Vox Pops: What did you as a professional enjoy the most?
CueBlog reporter Stephanie Friedman, took to the Fest streets and this time asked professional producers, actors and theatre makers about their impression so far. And most importantly: will they return to Fest next year?
“Fest is very well organised but we are playing only two concerts… we should have booked ten. Apart from the drivers in the Eastern Cape, the people are stunning. It doesn’t matter if it is the restaurant waiter or just a random person on the street, they are all stunning. This is our first time here and we are hoping to come again”
“I have been bringing productions here for several years in a row. This year is much better than past years. The Festival seems pretty full, there is more stuff available and the atmosphere is buzzing. I will definitely be coming back next year”
“The Festival is very vibrant. I have been to other art festivals but this one is amazing. It’s great because the Festival is not to over-commercialised. It really enhances the essence of art. I would love to perform again next year”
“I have performed in three productions at the Festival in the past three years. The production I am performing in this year is Dancing Ahead of Time. This year is better than the past few years because it is more organised but there seems to be less people. I definitely would like to be performing again next year”
“I am one of the performers with Dance to the Rain. The Festival this year is organised great. The advertising for the shows and publishing is also very good. I would like to perform again next year. I’ve performed in one show so far and have three more performances in the days ahead”
